Eric Carle Inspired art.
by pukelochy on May.14, 2012, under Art
We have been doing art inspired by Eric Carle. I am going to show you how to make Your art look a little bit like this.

1. First you get a couple of pieces of paper, paint those pieces of A4 paper a colour each and then let it dry.
2. After they have dried, you then paint things on it (e.g) dots or speckles or anything. Do this a couple of times.
3. When the are finished they should look a little bit like these:
4. Now you get an A3 piece of paper and draw the shape of your animal.
5. Then you cut it out limb by limb so it looks like this:
6. Now you sellotape your pieces of drawing to the back of your painted art.
7. After you have sellotaped it, cut it out:
8. Get one more piece of A3 paper and then paste your coloured pieces on the paper and enjoy!!!

Cat
Sleek and ginger,
He prowls along,
Seeking prey,
The clever way,
Ready to pounce,
He spots a mouse,
SNAP!!!
Sleek and ginger,
Clever and smart,
Mr Cat has a feast tonight!

Whakatane school camp 2012.
by pukelochy on May.10, 2012, under Uncategorized
On Sunday the 1 of April , we went to Whakatane for our school camp. On the way there we stopped at Rotorua to eat our lunch and there was a cool playground. When we got to camp we stayed at Ohope Top Ten beach resort. We were so excited when we got there because there were hydra slides and pools!
The next day of our camp on Monday we went fishing. It was fun because we got to have a go in the glass bottom kayaks, Tristin and I went in a double one! After we got out of the kayaks and back in the boat there were two fish that were caught – there was a medium sized one and small one. When we got off the boat we went and had fish and chips for lunch. After lunch we went to the Mataatua Marae and watched a movie about all of the carvings that are in Mataatua whare and we also watched a movie about how the Mataatua whare moved around the world but came back to New Zealand. After we had finished at the Marae we went back to camp.
Tuesday:
On Tuesday we went for a 4.5k walk, it was really long but it was fun and we got our shoes soaked when we walked along the beach! We walked on heaps of bush tracks and around rock pools and stuff. The sea was really strong and the waves were massive when we were walking along the beach. When we got back from our walk we wanted to swim in the sea but it was too dangerous.
Wednesday:
On Wednesday the most memorable bit of my day was when we went to the hot pools and played rugby in the hot pool! It was really hot but it was fun and the pool was really deep too! We also had a scavenger hunt on the beach that day too, we had a list of things we had to try and find on the beach. We found quite a lot of things. I found a fanta bottle lid and a few shells.
Thursday:
On Thursday we went to the Scilla handmade chocolate factory and watched chocolates being made. The thing I liked was the the chocolate wheel which mixed the the chocolate. All I wanted to do was eat all of the melted chocolate!!! It looked so yummy!!! When we got back to camp we went for our last swim at the beach it was really fun because we went body surfing and some of the waves were massive!
Overall our school camp was awesome!!!!! I really enjoyed it!

NZ army museum.
by pukelochy on Aug.25, 2011, under Uncategorized
The Pukeokahu students went to The New Zealand national army museum and and they all told me a little bit about:
Jonny: My favourite part about the army museum was the greenstone, there they had a computer where you could search for people who died in the war. A lot of my ancestors died in France. I also liked the the medals because of the story of Mr. Judson.
Millie: My favourite part was when the tour guide told us all about the New Zealand S.A.S soldiers who are fighting in Afghanistan and one got killed. The tour guide was really funny!
Tristin: My favourite part was the people who had there heads blown off. One guy had a hole in his head and another guy had only half a head and the third guy had to have a sack over his head because it was so gruesome!
Peita: We were in the recreation centre and we saw this Person eating something out of a tin can that looked like maggots! We all guessed what it was and then Mark our tour guide said that they were baked beans. He said do you get five plus a day? And we said yes. Then he said that its got five plus a day: The water, the sauce, the bean and once it gets into your mouth its got flies in it so that extra meat!
Grace: My favourite part was cooking the rashins of food, there was cat foody stuff that looked like mashed potato and it had carrots and stuff in it. My favourite exhibit was the seven barrel shot gun.
Snow plough
by pukelochy on Aug.17, 2011, under The Whats, Uncategorized
Stinkys way of getting to her cat biscuits was by ploughing through the snow in a snow plough. To make the snow plough work stinky has to walk forwards.
When Stinky walks on the treadmill it makes the truck go forwards, to get her to walk forwards there is cat food in front of her. So of course she would walk towards the cat food!!!
